Earth Nation Pendant by mon-mothma Earth Nation Pendant by mon-mothma
TAAA DAH!!!! This is my first attempt at making anything out of polymere clay into jewelry. I've made figures out of clay in the past but nothing to actually wear.

I think I used WAY too much finish (it's supposed to be a satin finish but it looks more like I dipped it into the basin of eternal wetness :giggle: )

I made a string of glass beads on a wire on the side and twisted the wire into the catch/loop for the string.

(a side pic [link] :D )

How can I get the imprinting of the Earth Nation better??

Thanks to :iconirishgal487: for prodding me to make my own after I saw her pretty Fire Nation necklace :worship: You rock iGal:D

You can also see by my hand how big it is (unleeeeessss :hmm: I have really BIG ginormous hands.... or teeny tiny itt bitty hands :giggle: )

I'm not sure what category to put this into:? So for now it's in the photography category.

DISCLAIMER:
My pendant is totally my own creation and just a crazy fan gal sorta obsession with making jewelry out of a cartoon series on tv! ;) I don't own NICK TV or AVATAR the LAST AIRBENDER.

WOW! It's great! It looks very smooth and well-cut! And shiny, that's great too! And of course, the beads bordering it looks so nice as well, it looks very professional! Great job! It must have taken a long time...

 Thank you!!
It did take quite awhile to come up with what exactly I thought I could do, and what was possible in my limited knowledge of polymere jewlery.

Lots of visits to the library (I SOOOO recommend Carol Blackburn!!)

This is the first time I've worked with polymere clay, and it was a lot of fun:D Before I've just used regular clay that you can't harden, and not to make jewelry... just figures.

I have a lochness monster that is now covered in dust that I didn't even shelaque!! :cries: If only I had known then what I know now! :tears: :giggle:

Thanks for the praise:D It does me ego good:D :D :D

Well all the time was definitely worth the effort with a result like this! And I'm sure the librairians are very pleased for your dedication as well! XD

Well, if this is the first time with polymere clay, you definitely did a great job! Personally, I have never worked with polymere, but I hear it is good for pendants etc and this proves it! So maybe I will make something...

Aww, poor lochness monster! *pats monster's dusty head* Well, now you have gathered enough experience to make another pretty shelaqued lochness monster! =D And no problem for the praise! You deserve it! Egos always need to be boosted. XD

Thank you so much :glomp: And yes, I think I'm going to have to do Lochness Monster 2.0 :giggle:

About the librarians........ XD they actually treat my sibs and I like we're criminals for taking out books!!! :faint:
Strange but true!! We come up with a boatload (admittedly) of books and they get all crabby sour faced about it..... it's pretty funny really :giggle:
My family actually takes out a wide variety of older books that otherwise wouldn't even be in circulation. (Except, maybe, the comic books;) )
What they want we don't know, maybe we it's because we enjoy life and they don't
Or maybe it's because we're getting out more than one book and it's not on the "must read because we say it's popular" list!!;) :giggle:

Who knows!? I'd like to see them try and stop us from using the library.... :giggle: we'd get all viking on them, that's for sure ;)

Thanks again!! :hug::hug::hug:

Oh, those librarians don't sound like a particuarly "would you also like some milk and cookies with that book?" kind of people. XD Maybe they are just so jealous of you being brave enough to step up to their dwellings to borrow so many books! Maybe they are used to people not borrowing. Or maybe you were just interrupting their fav soap... Ahh, so many maybe's... my life is like one whole maybe. =D

Maybe the more you smile and say hello to them, they will eventually like you! I did that with a lollipop lady near my old school cos she was such a sourpuss, but I said thankyou everyday as I walked across, and she eventually started saying you're welcome back and smiling. Twas fun. :giggle:

Sorry, starting to ramble about irrelevent things... that's like me. =D

What a wonderful charitable way to act! Thank you for such a gentle reminder!:blowkiss: If only more people would act that way.

My family is always laughing and smiling and trying to make others feel good about life too. Life's too short to be miserable :w00t:

"Maybe the more you smile and say hello to them, they will eventually like you!"
That's what I try to do:D And they're not ALL bad! Mostly it's just the ones up at the front desk.... ( I guess missing your soaps CAN be very irksome;) )

You're not rambling.... :D it's very good, charitable advise that comes from a good hearted soul!! And I'm glad I know ya!! :glomp:

I'm not such a good hearted soul, I'm just repeating the lessons my parents taught me. =D And thankyou for saying that! And that just proves what a charitable, friendly person you are too!

It's nice to have such a nice loving family isn't it? You can always act yourself around them, and they know you nearly always better than anyone. Your family definitely has some great advice concerning this matter, and I think they're right! Tell them I said so. =D

And thankyou for your great advice too! Hugs for you! :glomp:

It's so pretty. It's 100x better then mine (I might have to re-do it after seeing this) The glass beads give it a nice touch.

YAY!! I'm glad you got to see it first

 Thanks

I usually make jewlery from glass beads and didn't want them to be angry at me for using another meduim without them :giggle:

I love your necklace! But if I've inspired you to do another I'd love to see it too=)

It's so nice to have you as a friend iGal:D

Glad you like it :D
